Super Bowl Picks

I can see the finish line now. After going 3-0 in the Conference Championship round, I am now 3.3 units up for the season. I am going to make only three picks; if I lose them all, I am still a fraction ahead. I want that badly, considering the deep hole I started in.

The Packers are favored by 2.5 points. I want no part of this line, which has had two weeks to be hammered into shape and has only moved half a point. Instead, I will take total points over 45. When these teams played in 2009, it turned into a track meet, and in a domed stadium, I am expecting the same.

As always, there are no shortage of weird proposition plays that I would never play, such as the length of Christina Aguilera's rendition of the national anthem (over/under 1:56) or Phil Mickelson's fourth-round score on Sunday (plus 8.5) vs. Greg Jennings' receiving yards. There is something out there for every degenerate under the sun. I will take two shots in the dark that have a chance of increasing my year-end results.

Over 63.5 points total (pays 6/1)

Packers RB Brandon Jackson scores a TD (pays 5/1)
